Coaching FAQ
A clear, grounded guide to help you understand the difference between coaching and therapy—and choose what support fits you.
A friendly reminder:
Coaching and therapy are both powerful forms of support—just for different needs.
Coaching is not therapy.
Coaching does not diagnose, treat, or replace mental health care.
Coaching is education.
Coaching is skills.
Coaching is support, accountability, and growth.
Therapy is where you go to unpack the hurt.
Coaching is where you go to grow beyond it.
Both matter. Both help.
This page will help you figure out which space fits what you’re looking for right now.

Mental wellness coaching is a growth-focused, skills-based service.
We work on things like:
• Mindset
• Emotional tools
• Boundaries + communication
• Patterns + habits
• Self-awareness + self-trustCoaching helps you create real change in your life with support, accountability, and practical strategies.
No diagnosing.
No treating mental health disorders.
Just education, tools, and forward movement. -
Therapy is clinical. Coaching is not.
Therapy:
• Treats mental health conditions
• Processes trauma + past experiences
• Works through emotional pain
• Provided by a licensed therapistCoaching:
• Focuses on growth, skills, and future goals
• Supports patterns, mindset, and emotional wellness
• Provides tools, clarity, and accountability
• Does not diagnose or replace therapyBoth are powerful. They serve different purposes.
*Please note: coaching is not regulated by a governing body or licensure board. This means there is not a system in place for client safety. Further, this means the coach-client relationship is not a legally protected relationship: dual relationships are not prohibited, ethical standards are not assigned or enforced, and confidentiality is not protected. While I operate at the utmost professional standard, it is important to know that coaching is not therapy. Lastly, if you have ever been a therapy client of mine, due to the protected nature of that relationship I cannot welcome you as a client in my coaching practice.
